City of Richmond (1873)

A 12x10 negative. A starboard near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner City of Richmond (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her hull paintwork is dirty and she is discharging ash and clinker into lighters alongside. A tug named Queen, possibly the vessel of this name built in 1862, is also alongside. She has her boiler on deck.
