A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard broadside view of the passenger excursion paddle steamer Glen Rosa (1877) under way in gravesend Reach, River Thames, bound down with passengers on board. Her funnel markings are not recognized, she is making some smoke and her mast is hinged down. The general cargo coaster City of Verviers (1875) is in the background pointing upriver. she is seen from off her port beam. Tilbury is in the background. There is slight image movement.
