Damascus (1887)
A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Damascus (1887) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has four yards on her foremast. Tilbury Fort gatehouse is in the left background. A stumpy spritsail barge is dried out alongside the fort's wall, presumably to transfer stores.
