Doric (1883)
A whole plate negative. A starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Doric (1883) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, prior to her departure on her maiden voyage to New Zealand. She is lightly laden and has four masted barque rig with yards on her fore, main and mizzen masts. Tilbury is in the background. She was completed 4 July 1883 and sailed for New Zealand 26 July 1883.
