Duke of Argyll (1873)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Duke of Argyll (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a four masted topsail schooner rig with two yards on her foremast and in flying the blue peter. A Watkins tug is alongside her port quarter. Tilbury Fort is in the background. A small steam launch is at anchor in the foreground. The original negative has peeled off and been discarded. Negative numbers G2213, G2220 and G2230 were taken on the same occasion.
