Edinburgh (1855)
A whole plate negative. A starboard broadside view of the cable ship Edinburgh (1855) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is ship rigged with double topsails and single topgallants and, unusually for a cable ship, has a running bowsprit. Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the background. Negatives numbers G1496 and G1507 were taken on the same occasion.
