Game Cock (1883); Loodiana (1884)

A whole plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Loodiana (1885) about to get under way in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast and her hull forward is stained with white. A tow line is running out from her bow but she is still connected to a mooring buoy. The steam screw tug Game Cock (1883), seen from off her port quarter, is in the foreground. Tilbury Fort is in the background. Negatives numbers G1966, G1979 and G2005 were taken on the same occasion.
