Ganges (1880)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality port broadside view of the general cargo steamship Ganges (1880) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast and is flying her international signal letters VDLW. Wooden supports are in place for a timber deck cargo. Tilbury Fort is in the background. Negatives numbers G1945 and G2206 were taken on the same occasion.
