A whole plate negative. A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Grecian Monarch (1882) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has four yards on each of her fore and main masts and none on her mizzen and jigger masts. She is flying the U.S. flag at her foremast. An unidentified paddle tug is in the right foreground and the screw tug Bantam Cock (1882) is on the left. Tilbury is in the background.
