Hibernia (1861)
A whole plate negative. A starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the cable ship Hibernia (1861) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast and none on her main and mizzen masts. The paddle tug Agincourt (1861) is alongside forward. Tilbury is in the background. The Hibernia (1861) sailed from Gravesend 30 October 1877 for Brazil and was wrecked at Maranhao 22 November 1877. Negatives numbers G1711 and G2042 were taken on the same occasion.
