Liguria (1874)
A 10x8 negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Liguria (1874) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her number one lifeboat is in the water but still attached to the falls. She has three yards on her fore and main masts. Tilbury Fort gatehouse is in the background. This is a duplicate negative produced on safety film. The original whole plate glass negative was broken during handling immediately prior to this duplicate being made and has been discarded (see note).
