Lord Warden (1868)

A whole plate negative. A copy of a painting of the paddle tug Lord Warden (1868). This work has been produced by overpainting a photographic print, leaving the Tilbury background relatively untouched. The tug is depicted from just forward of the starboard beam and she is under way in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has buff funnels and the name on the paddle box has been shortened to Lḏ Warden. No name is shown incorporated into the bow scroll. Crew members and a houseflag have been added and the river has been roughened and given white caps.
