Manora (1883)
A whole plate negative. A poor quality starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Manora (1883) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is flying the blue peter and has three yards on her foremast. She is embarking the 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards to transport them to Suakin, Egypt, on the shores of the Red Sea, where they arrived on 8 March 1885. The paddle tug Prince (1859) is alongside forward. Tilbury is in the background. Negatives numbers G1729, G1730, G1962 and G1982 were taken on the same occasion.
