A 12x10 negative. A port near broadside view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Merkara (1875) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has additional accommodation amidships and has two yards on her foremast. Skiffs are in the foreground and Tilbury is in the background.
