Nomadic (1891)
A 12x10 negative. A distant port very near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the cargo liner Nomadic (1891) just getting under way in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is fitted out as a livestock carrier, as evidenced by the large number of ventilators fitted to the holds, and is serving as Boer War transport number 34. A paddle tug is taking a line from her bow. The screw tug Dunera (1892) is in the left foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
