Orient (1879)
A whole plate negative. A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is as built with short funnels and yards to her fore and main masts. The Board of Trade steam launch Mantis (1884), seen from just ahead of her port beam, is at anchor in the foreground.
