Orizaba (1886)
A 12x10 negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Orizaba (1886) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her funnels have been raised and an additional lifeboat and davits has been fitted abaft the bridge. This lifeboat is in the water attached to its falls and some of the crew are on the rope ladder leading down to it. The ferry Sir Walter Raleigh (1855), seen from ahead of her starboard beam, is alongside transferring passengers. Tilbury is in the background.
