Ormuz (1886)

A whole plate negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Ormuz (1886) at moorings in Sydney, New South Wales, harbour. She is as built with three yards on each of her fore and main masts. A number of harbour craft and small boats are alongside her. The low lying Fort Denison is on the left and Farm Cove is in the background. Three Royal Navy warships of the frigate or corvette type are at moorings with masses of washing hanging in their rigging. A copy negative made by Gould of a photographic print by an unknown photographer. Negatives numbers G1587, G1588, G1835 and G1839 are all copies of the same image.
