Orontes (1902)
A 10x8 negative. A distant port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Orontes (1902) under tow in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, bound in for Tilbury docks. She is flying the pilot flag. A Gamecock Steam Towing Co tug is ahead and the tug Athlete (1893) is alongside aft. Tilbury Hotel is in the background. This 10x8 safety film copy negative has been produced from a photographic print made from the original 12x10 glass plate negative which has been discarded.
