A half plate negative. A poor quality starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Ortona (1899) under tow in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, arriving at Tilbury for the first time. A Gamecock Steam Towing Co tug is alongside. Tilbury is in the background. A copy negative of part of negative number G1177. The negative has been retouched in way of the funnels. The negative has been damaged by damp.
