Otway (1909)
A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Otway (1909) getting under way in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, bound out for Australia. She is flying the blue peter and is washing out her hawse as the anchor chain comes inboard. Her hull side doors are open. The stern of the United States Navy wood screw sloop Ranger (1876) is on the right of the picture. She is on loan to the Massachusetts Nautical School for service as a training ship. Tilbury is in the background.
