Peninsular (1888); Vigilant (1874)
A 12x10 negative. A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Peninsular (1888) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is flying the blue peter and a pilot flag. She has three yards on her foremast and awnings are rigged amidships and aft. The tug Vigilant (1874) is alongside aft. A twin funnelled tug is alongside her starboard side forward. Tilbury is in the background.
