Persian Monarch (1880)
A whole plate negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Persian Monarch (1880) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a course, topsail and topgallant on each of her fore and main masts, a spanker on her mizzen mast and no canvas on her jigger mast. An awning is rigged over her bridge. Her number 3 boat is swung out and suspended under the davits. Tilbury is in the background. Negatives numbers G1942 and G2227 were taken on the same occasion.
