Poonah (1862)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality port very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Poonah (1862) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has been lengthened and has an auxiliary barquentine rig with three yards on her foremast. A large awning is rigged ahead of her mizzen mast. The Watkins paddle tug Uncle Sam (1849) is alongside. The stern of the paddle tug Prince (1859) is on the left. Tilbury is in the background.
