Port Jackson (1883)
A whole plate negative. A poor quality port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Port Jackson (1883) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary brig rig with four yards on each mast and is flying the blue peter and the Anglo-Australian S N Company houseflag. A number of passengers are on deck and Tilbury is in the background. She sailed this day on her maiden voyage to Adelaide. The negative is badly damaged by damp and negative number P12473 will provide a better print.
