A whole plate negative. A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Potosi (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary 3 masted barque rig and a large board is hanging over the side forward. An awning is being rigged abreast the funnels. The paddle tug Uncle Sam (1849). seen from ahead of her port beam, is in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background.
