A whole plate negative. A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged general cargo sailing vessel Collingwood (1872) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is rigged with double topsails, double topgallants on the fore and main masts, a single topgallant on the mizzen mast and single royals on the main and mizzen masts. She is flying the blue peter and men in a small boat are by her mooring buoy. The paddle tug Reliance (1874), seen from abaft her port beam, is at anchor in the left foreground. The Coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV.28 (1847) is on the Tilbury shore in the background.
