Rome (1881)
A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Rome (1881) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a four masted barque rig with yards on her fore, main and mizzen masts. Tilbury is in the background. The original whole plate negative lost its emulsion and was discarded about 1955. A copy negative has been made by the NMM studio from a photographic print produced about 1950.
