Seine (1859)
A whole plate negative. A starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the cable ship Seine (1859) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a black hull, a short funnel and three yards on each of her fore and main masts. She has a staging and sheerlegs on her bow. Tilbury is in the background. The original glass plate negative has been discarded and a 10x8 safety film negative has been made of a 12x10 photographic print produced from the original negative in the 1950s. This print is available for scanning.
