Somersetshire (1867)

A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the auxiliary 3 masted ship rigged passenger/cargo liner Somersetshire (1867) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Most of her yards have been sent down and only her fore course and fore double topsail yards are still in place. The Daniel List states she was rigged with double topgallants and single royals. Tilbury Fort and the Coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV.28 (1847) are in the background. Negative number G1327 was taken on the same occasion.
