Somersetshire (1867)

A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the auxiliary 3 masted ship rigged passenger/cargo liner Somersetshire (1867) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her fore and main topgallant and royal yards and all of her mizzen yards have been sent down and only her fore and main course and double topsail yards are still in place. The Daniel List states she was rigged with double topgallants and single royals. Tilbury Fort and a 3 masted general cargo steamer are in the background. Negatives numbers G1310 and G1548 were taken on the same occasion.
