Sorata (1872)

A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Sorata (1880) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary barque rig and a large canvas has been draped over the deck and lifeboats between the funnel and the mainmast. A laden lighter is alongside amidships. The stern of a tug is in the foreground and Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the left background.
