Sultan (1873)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Sultan (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a 3 masted rig with two yards on the foremast and she is flying the blue peter and her houseflag. Tilbury railway station and ferry pontoon is in the background. This is a copy negative of a photographic print produced from the discarded negative G1332. Negatives numbers G1316, G1332 and G2331 were taken on the same occasion.
