Tainui (1884)

A half plate negative. A port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Tainui (1884) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast and an awning is rigged amidships where her forward lifeboat and davits have been removed. The lifeboats abreast her funnels are swung out. Tilbury is in the background. This is a Gould copy of a mounted photographic print from another Gould negative that is not held in the collection. The original negative was probably taken in June 1896.
