“From start to finish it was a day to remember. It was magical in all the ways we could have imagined and more.”

-The happy couple. ''

THE BEGINNING...

Dina & Krzysztof enquired with us last February about hosting their wedding reception at Cutty Sark. After exchanging a few emails, on the 5th of March, our Sales & Events Executive Marianna welcomed the couple for an initial site visit of the ship. Marianna recalls that Dina & Krzysztof were so excited and could already see themselves in the Dry Berth celebrating their love!

A few words from Marianna...

‘’I recall Dina saying she could already see the DJ, the flowers and the guests! And to see both of them so thrilled already about the venue during the visit made me feel so good and proud to be a part of their story.’’

Things moved quickly after the site visit and within a couple of weeks, Dina & Krzysztof had chosen their caterer from our accredited list, the lovely team at Food By Dish and confirmed the date with us for their special day to be celebrated on Saturday 30th November 2024 at Cutty Sark.

THE PLANNING...

Following from confirmation, Marianna introduced the couple to Nick, one of our Events Manager who started the wedding planning with the couple. With our accredited supplier list, Dina & Krzysztof put together their supplier team alongside Food By Dish Catering.

They chose to work with the excellent Lavender Green Flowers, Ash Productions, Jeff Oliver Photography and I will video. Nick worked with the couple to curate their perfect design and day schedule.

THE BIG DAY...

On the day, guests were greeted at 7pm and taken through an exclusive tour of the ship deck, taking them on a journey through time as they experienced the ship as it was built in 1869. As guests arrived on the second level, the Tween Deck, they were treated to a drinks & canapes reception amongst the wonderful artefacts and interactives in situ retracing the rich history of the ship's past voyages.

Did you know that Cutty Sark was built in 1869 to bring back tea form China and wool from Australia back to the UK and is now the last remaining tea clipper out of one thousand once at sea?

Jeff Oliver Photography captured some wonderful bride & groom moments on the Main Deck, featuring the epic backdrop of the Canary Wharf skyline.

Guests were called for dinner in the main event space of Cutty Sark, the Dry Berth, the only space in London where you can dine and dance under the gleaming cupper hull of the 963 tonnes ship itself. Dina & Krzysztof were announced into the Dry Berth by DJ Jack to their chosen soundtrack and welcomed into the space by all their guests, lined up on either sides of the Dry Berth staircase, creating an aisle leading the couple to their sweetheart table.

As the bride & groom enjoyed their wedding breakfast, their loved ones made beautiful speeches celebrating their love.

Dina & Krzysztof were then announced to the dance floor for their first dance to 'When you say nothing at all’ by Ronan Keating followed by a heartwarming father-daughter dance to ‘I loved her first’ by Heartland. Following on from that the bride & groom shared their cake- cutting moment surrounded by all their loved ones before Dina’s modern twist on the bouquet toss to ‘Single Ladies’ from Beyoncé.

Nick was on site, by their side all day, making sure that everything ran as Dina & Krzysztof planned it, down to the very last detail.

A few words from Nick...

''Dina & Krzysztof were such an amazing couple to work with and it was a real privilege to be a part of their special day.''

THE DESIGN

Lavender Green Flowers did an incredible job at capturing the couple's brief and design vision. We especially loved the beautiful LED candles display along each side of the Dry Berth which created a magical aesthetic.

A few words from Lavender Green

‘’ Dina & Krzysztof approached us seeking a seamless and unforgettable experience for their wedding. From our initial conversations, it was clear they wanted an elegant yet lively atmosphere, introducing romance and warmth into the historic surroundings. Working with a feminine palette of ivory, blush and soft peach and masses of candlelight, an enchanting atmosphere was created. On the night, everything came together beautifully—the energy was fantastic, the guests were engaged, and the couple was overjoyed. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Dina & Krzysztof expressing their gratitude for how smoothly everything ran and how their expectations were exceeded. It was truly a pleasure to be part of their celebration!’’

This aesthetic was brilliantly complemented by Ash’s production fusing warm gold and electric blue hues of light that flooded the Dry Berth. All design details came together perfectly right down to the pastel-colored peach glittering DJ booth! It was really a sight to behold!
