The Wrens: Being the Story of their Beginnings & Doings in Various Parts
This month Tracey takes a look at the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), known informally as the 'Wrens'. In particular, Tracey looks at a pamphlet ‘The Wrens: Being the Story of their Beginnings & Doings in Various Parts’, which includes articles, poetry, photographs and comic illustrations submitted by Wrens all around the country during the First world War. All these give a flavour of the kind of jobs the Wrens did during the conflict, from decoding to mechanics. Fascinating stuff! Take up the story with June's Item of the Month
