Out Of This World: Mars
The Red Planet awaits as we explore where only robots have gone before!
In this morning of science and discovery, we'll begin by travelling across the Solar System in our planetarium to our neighbour, the planet Mars. Then, join us for an interactive workshop as we find out how we explore this fascinating world that at one time was not so different from our own.
Recommended for ages 7+. Please ensure you book the appropriate number of tickets for your group size. Please note we cannot offer free tickets for under 5s with this event.
Plan your visit
How long will this event last?
The morning will begin with a planetarium show, lasting 30 minutes. Following this, there will be a workshop, lasting up to 45 minutes.
When should I arrive?
The planetarium is part of the Royal Observatory, at the top of a hill with spectacular views across London. Please allow enough time to get to us and aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the planetarium show’s start time, as latecomers cannot be admitted. Any latecomers will be able to join in with the workshop after the planetarium show though.
Can I bring a pushchair?
Pushchairs are not allowed into the planetarium itself but there is a designated buggy park in the foyer.
Can I visit the Observatory too?
You do not need a Royal Observatory ticket to visit the Planetarium. However, if you would also like to visit the historic observatory then you can book a separate ticket here.
Are companion/carer tickets available?
Companions to disabled visitors are entitled to free admission. These tickets can be selected online when booking any paid ticket. Please contact the Bookings Team on 0208 312 6608 or email bookings@rmg.co.uk if you have any queries.
