Typescript copy of memorial service of Rear Admiral George Fowke 1767-1832. Dies 2nd April 1832 at Sible Headingham Essex about 3am from an affection of the heart. Promoted to lieutenant 22 November 1790. Spitfire, 1793- Prince, Barfleur, July 1794 ‘Glory’, Sept 1794 ‘Santa Margaretta’ 29th September promoted to Commander ‘the Swallow’ 9th July 1798 Captain post rank – ‘Proselyte November 1798’. 1807 nominated super intendent of the ships fitted for the reception of prisoners of war in the river Medway ‘Rochester’ March 1808 moved to ‘Irresistible’ 1812 moved to ‘Royal William’ ‘the Prince 1813.’ On 27th May 1825 Captain Fowke became Rear Admiral Fowke of the Blue.
