In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
John Scartliff, Carpenter of the NORWICH and Elias Long, Carpenter of the PRINCE OF ORANGE hired ship, were ordered on board the OWNER'S LOVE fireship in their voyage to Virginia, she being in distress. Because of bad weather they were unable to rejoin their own ships and you are directed to have the two carpenters borne on their ships' books, taking care that they are not paid wages for any service done in His Majesty's yards.
