In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Copy of a letter from Captain Richard Wyatt Commander of the ROYALOAK at Blackstakes in which he requests permission to remove entries for desertion made against certain Men be on the grounds that many of them rejoined the ship very soon after the entries were made and that he confidently expects the speedy return of the remainder. He reminds the Admiralty that the Men are due upwards of three years pay, many having wives and children.
