In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

At a Court Martial held aboard the ELIZABETH in the Downs on the 25th March last, Matthew Aylmer, Vice Admiral of the Blue, President, Lieutenant Edmund Pain, 4th Lieutenant of the St. MICHAEL, was sentenced to forfeit all the Pay due to him in the Ship for having taken money off several Masters of Merchant Ships to discharge Men imprest by him into his Majesty's Service. We are sending you a Copy of the sentence of the Court Martial enclosed, and direct you to take care that his Wages be paid to Chatham Chest accordingly.
