In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Mr Edward Whitaker, Solicitor for the affairs of the Admiralty and Navy, has presented to this Board his Account of Disbursements between the 4th November 1695 and the 5th November 1696, amounting to the sum of three thousand eight hundred and fifty seven pounds, nineteen shillings and two pence. Sir Charles Hedger, Judge of the High Court of the Admiralty, and Thomas Leckmore, Sergeant at Law, have certified to the reasonableness of the Account as to what relates both to the Civil and Common Law parts, and Mr Whitaker has likewise made an oath to the whole of the Disbursements.
After consideration we direct you to clear Imprest bills out against him for the said sum , but as Mr Whitaker has made himself a Debtor at the end of his Accounts for the sum of eighty pounds, nine shillings, being money received by him on the occasions expressed, we direct you to take care to charge him therewith.
