In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Yesterday we got in our ballast and today our guns, and should be ready to sail by 14 February if we had been supplied with the provisions. I have been daily in touch with the merchants about supplying the agent with money and I offered to supply the agent with £400 myself. They seemed to be willing to raise the remainder of the money with the proviso that I would endorse the bills the agent gave them, which I consented to do, but notwithstanding this they have not disbursed one penny and I do not know what measures to take until I have their Lordships orders. I have on board 114 men with provisions for 14 days. Signed by Captain Pound, Commander of the DOVER prize.
