Court Martial held on board the DREADNOUGHT in Hamoze on 17 February 1696/7, Captain Will Whetstone, Commander of the DREADNOUGHT, President. Captains - Charles Guy, William Cleavland, John Viall, Coper Wade, Will Calewall, Ken Anderson, R Culliford, T Bridges, George Delavall, Richard Haddock, John Drake, Richard White, Jonathan Walls, Thomas Smith. The PENDENNIS being run aground in Rye Bay, the Court found that Richard Brincknell, Master had not put a man in the chains with a lead, contrary to the Captain's orders. Found guilty of a breach of Article 25 under the Act of Parliament made in the 13th year of the reign of Charles II, for the better government of His Majesty's Forces at Sea. The Master mulcted 6 months pay.
