In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosure: Copy of a letter from Captain Steward Commander of the EXPEDITION at Chatham in which he informs the Admiralty that a number of wounded Men were put ashore at Gosport - some for forwarding to St. Bartholomew's Hospital. He now asks for the "Q's" put against their names upon discharge to be removed by the Pay Office provided the Men can produce the requisite Certificates. Steward also appeals on behalf of John Cerr whose jaw was broken in an accident at the capstan when raising anchor off the Goodwin Sands in 1696.
