In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Four months ago their Lordships suspended me but did not appoint another to act as Purser of the CAMBRIDGE. I continued to supply the ship with necessaries, as did my Steward at £2.6.0 per month extra pay to issue provisions to the men. It is about 16 days since their Lordships dismissed me and I am informed another is appointed in my place. As he has not yet come I beg, in consideration of my charge and service, that their Lordships will be pleased to grant an order to pay me to the day that my successor shall take charge. Signed by John Cole; Late Purser of the CAMBRIDGE.
