Letters from Captain Frederick Marryat, naval officer and novelist, to Clarkson Stanfield.
Letters include concern about Clarkson’s eldest son Clarkson William who had been sent to stay with the Marryat’s due to his unmanageable behaviour and antagonism to his stepmother. Clarkson William has been there 18 months and Marryat agrees with Clarkson it will do no good to keep him longer, Clarkson not to believe anything his son has said against Marryat, has periodical fits of violence, perhaps he could get a clerk’s position on a wharf for London Docks.
