Series contains 3 watercolours: ‘View of Cartegena from the Papa’ by ‘Tod P Philip[?]’; ‘A view of Cayo Hospital, Guatanamo, or Cumberland Harbor, South Coast of Cuba’ by H Burgess [featuring E N Harrison’s grave ‘Paymaster HMS Buzzard, 6 December 1854,’; ‘A view of Cayo Hospital, Guatanamo or Cumberland Harbor, South Coast of Cuba.’ Oversized Material; a map of the Captain Austin’s Research Expedition, including areas visited by various officers in the arctic highlighted in orange; Lt. Osborne highlighted in light blue; Lt. Mecham highlighted in yellow; Lt. Brown highlighted in navy blue. Circa 1851-1852. Includes a paper cover to map with brief description and date [1851-1852]; a pen and Ink sketch of HMS ASSISTANCE stuck in the Ice with her crew playing cricket on the ice with igloos in the background called ‘Erebus, Terror, Franklin, Fitzjames’ with a ship’s mast and Ensign flag attached. The sea with a ship on the horizon can be seen along with six balloons dropping supplies from the sky and a watercolour of the ASSISTANCE in the Ice, presumably sketched by Edward Harrison.
