Information about the Inland Water Transport in Burma.
Photocopy of Information about the formation of the Inland Water Transport in Burma 1941-1942. Part 1 begins with an outline of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Co.'s activities at the time of the outbreak of war with Japan, the retreat which required movement of military traffic, and the eventual ending of river transport activities in Burma as the IFC. Part 2 concerns the considerable difficulties of the turning of the IFC into a military unit, and the compromise which eventually resulted in the General Manager of the IFC becoming the Director of the IWT, with very little change to his task or position.
