Letter to Nevil Maskelyne from Edme-Sébastien Jeaurat.

A letter to Nevil Maskelyne dated 29th September 1789, from Jeaurat (Paris), in French, had sent in a paper for the Royal Society to Nevil Maskelyne via Mr Poore (Edward Poore, 1745-1803) but had heard no reply from Maskelyne. Reference to recent comet that hasn’t been seen and possible errors in the predictions for its return. Mentions meeting Poore in Italy.

Administrative / biographical background
Edme-Sébastien Jeaurat (1725-1803) was a French astronomer most notable for publishing a map of the 64 stars of the Pleiades in 1786. He was also a member of the French Academy of Sciences.
